The Care Concierge takes the stress off of families by breaking down the barriers to mental healthcare. Care Solace is a resource available to district families and staff for free. This 24/7 team of care coordinating experts guides and supports families throughout the entire process. We only refer to trusted and ethical providers. The team speaks English, Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Vietnamese.

Reopening Pathways to College K8 for Grades 6th, 7th, and 8th

We are pleased to announce the reopening of PTC for in-person instruction. Students in grades 6th through 8th whose parents indicated that their children would be returning to school will begin on March 30th. Distance learning will continue for those students whose parents indicated that they will remain on distance learning.

The majority of students who return to school will return as part of a morning cohort of students that will begin at 8:00 am and end at 11:00 a.m. For those attending the afternoon cohort, that will begin at 12:30 pm and end at 3:30 pm.

All cohorts will be taught Tuesday through Friday. Monday is a planning day for staff. All students whether they are part of a distance learning cohort or in-person cohort will participate in Zoom assemblies on Mondays and complete classwork assignments.

Students returning to school for in-person learning must comply with all safety and behavioral guidelines set forth in our school re-opening plan, which has been approved by the county and state public health departments. Students who fail to honor these guidelines will be returned to distance learning.

Note that the schedule will begin on Tuesday, March 30th. Please adhere to the safety guidelines issued by the California Department of Public Health and enforced by Pathways K8.

Pathways to College K8: Reopening our school safely!

Reopening Pathways to College K8 for Grades TK - 5th

We are pleased to announce the reopening of PTC for in-person instruction. Students in grades TK-2 whose parents indicated that their children would be returning to school will begin on March 11. Students in grades 3-5 will begin on March 16. Distance learning will continue for those students whose parents indicated that they will remain on distance learning.

Pathways to College K8 Charter School has submitted the COVID-19 Guidance Checklist and COVID-19 Prevention Program (CPP) to the School Safety Plan Committee, San Bernardino County, and California Department of Public Health. If you would like additional information regarding PTC's plan for reopening, please refer to the COVID-19 Safety Plan (CSP) linked below. Although the plan states that the school intends to open by February 16th, this will only occur if San Bernardino County's daily infection rate drops below 25 cases per 100,000. In all likelihood, PTC will not be able to reopen before spring 2021.

Introduction

A catastrophic event may result in the official suspension of face-to-face classes at Pathways to College K8. The nature of the events/disruptions will determine the conditions under which instruction may be impacted. While the specifics of the conditions may vary, one or more of the following general conditions may be the impetus for enacting the plan:

Loss of teaching and learning facilities including loss of public infrastructure or access to our facilities. Classes may need to be held at alternative locations or online.
Significant reduction in teachers, staff, and student attendance related to illness, natural disasters, or other events.
Need for “social distancing” to provide instruction without face-to-face contact (Pandemic).

Continuity of learning is the continuation of education in the event of a prolonged school closure or student absence. It is a critical component of school emergency management, as it promotes the continuation of teaching and learning despite circumstances that interrupt normal school attendance for one or more students. However, many considerations play a role in the development of distance learning programs, such as accessibility, type and quality of materials, and the length of time that this type of learning must be maintained. There are also a variety of potentially viable distance learning methods. The following has been prepared to outline plan description and resources that PTC has available.

In the event of a school closure, arrangements will be made so that students may take their assigned textbook and/or workbook home with them. Other student supports	School will develop plans with local agencies to ensure that time sensitive supports for students are available. Contact school to inform what tools may be needed to support distance learning.	Call (760) 949-8002
Meal Programs	The USDA has approved a request from California to allow meal service during school closures to minimize potential exposure to the virus. These meals are available at no cost to each student enrolled at PTC to ensure kids receive nutritious meals while schools are temporarily closed. Meals are provided through a pick up service from Monday through Friday, during the school closure. Cars will pull up to the designated area and receive a meal for each child that is: Physically in attendance (in the vehicle). One breakfast meal and one lunch meal per student per day. Student must be currently enrolled as a PTC student. In conjunction with the "social distancing" order, meals will be served using the current end of day car pick-up system. Parents/guardians will form a line, drive up to the serve area, and inform the staff how many children (who fit the above criteria) are in the vehicle. Meals are provided through pick-up only, there will be no areas allowed for eating on site.	PTC’s food service program will offer meals during the planned school closure. Nutrition Services Procedures

Five (5) Day Meal Service

Five (5) Day Meals (Breakfast and Lunch) will be served to students in the Distance Learning Program ONLY on Mondays from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm.
For students who will attend In-Person Instruction, Tuesday through Friday, they may pick up a Single Monday Meal (breakfast and lunch).

Daily Meal Service

Breakfast

Students attending In-Person Instruction, Tuesday through Friday, will receive a daily breakfast meal.
Breakfast will be served pre-packaged during the designated 20 minute break (see Hybrid Learning Schedule).

Lunch

Students attending In-Person Instruction, Tuesday through Friday, will receive a daily lunch meal.
Nutrition Services Staff will deliver wagons to the classes for the aides/teachers to hand out the meals as the student leaves the campus.
Lunch will be served pre-packaged to students as they are dismissed from campus.
